UBT Recruitment provides professional talent acquisition services to a broad network of SME businesses across Australia & New Zealand. We are currently partnering with a growing, family owned business based in Brighton, Tasmania seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Customer Service Consultant.

The Company

Our client is a reputable Australian manufacturer and supplier, providing market leading building products to a large range of hardware stores and resellers across Australia and New Zealand. With many years of experience within the building industry, they pride themselves on delivering a high quality and innovative range of products along with exceptional customer service to Australian builders and tradies. Established in 1988, this family run business started off as a basic timber merchant in Tasmania and have since grown their client base to mainland Australia and NZ.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a service-oriented individual with exceptional customer service and order processing skills. Reporting into the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating contact with customers and suppliers via phone and email with regards to orders, invoicing, freight and other general enquiries.

To thrive in this role, you will have excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail allowing you to process customer orders promptly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Answering and transferring calls and providing a high level of service
  • Entering orders into the system for all warehouse locations and product lines (Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart)
  • Organising and overseeing freight paperwork and bookings for all orders
  • Checking freight charge invoices for Accounts & Finance Manager and ensuring the most economical freight solution is utilized
  • Ensuring orders are dispatched on time according to our service promises
  • Invoicing of orders
  • Working and communicating with warehouse staff at warehouses to ensure service standards are maintained
  • Providing adhoc administrative support to the team

What we are looking for: 

  • Previous experience within customer service and order processing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; someone who thrives on providing customers with a first-rate experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and MYOB
  • Have a level of integrity and accountability
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • A team player with a strong one team approach to problem solving 
  • Wholesale or Retail knowledge of selling B2B is highly desirable
